The Sicherheitsschirm is a high-quality premium umbrella with a very sturdy carbon shaft – designed for everyday life, travel and discreet self-protection. It looks like a normal umbrella, but is built much more robustly than conventional models.

Yes. The Sicherheitsschirm is a normal umbrella and therefore an everyday item that may generally be carried in daily life.

Because images and short clips can quickly create the wrong impression. Our aim is a calm, factual presentation focused on prevention, de-escalation and responsible action. Depictions that appear like active confrontation do not fit this approach.

Instead, we focus on principles that are useful in many situations: maintaining awareness, keeping distance, acting in a controlled way – and avoiding unnecessary risks.

Yes and no – of course you do not need to be a martial artist. The umbrella is intuitive to use and mainly helps create distance and defuse situations.

But: it is like any tool. It is only as valuable and helpful as your ability to use it properly.

Our standard model has a length of approx. 90 cm – an ideal length if you also want to use it as a sturdy walking aid. For travellers or people who prefer something more compact, we offer our “City version”. With its practical size, it fits into a suitcase or larger bag without compromising stability.

Yes, many of our models are equipped with a convenient automatic opening function. One push of a button and the umbrella opens powerfully. It was important to us that the mechanism is very robust so that it remains reliable even with frequent use.

Absolutely! When selecting the handles, we made sure they are ergonomically shaped. Whether crook handle or knob – they sit securely and non-slip in the hand, whether for larger or smaller hands.

We use a specially coated high-density fabric. Water beads off very well (lotus effect). A quick shake after the rain is usually enough, and the umbrella is dry again in a short time.

Many of our customers use the umbrella as an “invisible companion”. It is like insurance: you hope never to need it – but you are glad to have it with you.

In addition, an umbrella also has practical advantages in the sun: many people today perceive sunlight (and thus UV exposure) as more intense than decades ago. A high-quality umbrella not only provides shade, but can noticeably reduce direct sun exposure.

Especially on hot days, the umbrella creates a more pleasant microclimate – it simply becomes less hot around the head and neck. In many Asian countries, it has been normal for decades to use an umbrella in sunny weather – not because of rain, but as protection from heat and sun.

The Sicherheitsschirm also works as an elegant accessory – while remaining discreet in daily life.

Our umbrellas are designed for high loads and are much sturdier than ordinary umbrellas. However, in extremely strong wind, any umbrella can turn inside out – this is not necessarily “breaking”, but a reaction to very high wind pressure.

In practice, a simple trick helps: turn the umbrella so that you hold it against the wind. The air pressure then pushes it back into its normal shape. Depending on the situation, this can also be repeated several times.

What matters is calm handling: do not “fight” the wind, but let the pressure work for you.

The stainless steel tip is a robust, rust-free component at the front end of the umbrella. It protects the umbrella in daily use and is designed for durability.

Many customers also use the umbrella as a stable walking aid in daily life – in that case, a durable tip is especially useful.

Regardless of this, our focus is always on behaviour, distance and de-escalation in sensitive situations.

We include the rubber cap as standard because it is very practical in everyday use: it reduces rattling and provides more grip on smooth surfaces (e.g. tiles, smooth asphalt).

This turns the umbrella into a stable walking aid without slipping. In addition, with the rubber cap attached, the umbrella is more likely to stay standing when placed in a corner, for example – it slips away less easily and falls over less often.

If needed, the cap can be quickly attached or removed.
