1. The 3 lengths – the right Sicherheitsschirm for every person and every situation

People and situations are different. That is exactly why the Sicherheitsschirm is available in several lengths – from the extremely compact model for confined situations to the XXL version for excellent rain protection and more distance.

  • City-Safe (78 cm): compact – ideal for public transport, entrances, stairwells, narrow paths
  • Standard: the all-rounder for everyday life, perfect for two people
  • XXL (103 cm): more reach/coverage – often popular with taller people

2. Models & variants

Over the years, we did not create “one model for everyone,” but developed variants that cover real needs: compact, balanced – or extra large. This is not marketing, but the result of real-world use, feedback, and continuous development.

  • City-Safe: extremely compact – especially in confined situations
  • Standard: the perfect compromise between sufficient rain protection and good handling
  • XXL: comfortable rain protection and maximum distance & reach
Simple choice: compact, balanced or maximum size – depending on daily life, body height and intended use. You can choose one of the nine real-wood handles for every size and have the option with or without reflective band.
Note: The “City-Safe” is extremely compact and provides rain protection for one person; the “Standard” is the model for two, and the “XXL” is for tall people and offers very comfortable rain protection.

3. Women’s umbrellas – more compact, but without compromise

Our women’s model is the finely tuned version for women. Discreet and immediately at hand in an emergency. With the same stability that defines the Sicherheitsschirme.

  • Length: 86 cm – the “golden middle” for many
  • Popular: color variants black / aubergine / blue
  • Who is it for? Women are unfortunately often victims – but that does not have to be the case.

Tip: In the configurator you can immediately see which version suits you best.

More finely tuned – slightly lighter than the men’s umbrellas. Available in the three canopy colors blue, aubergine and black. With crook handle (no option for another handle).
Note: We offer the women’s umbrella in three different canopy colors, each with a black crook handle and the option with or without reflective band.

4. Handles – real wood, shape & control

The handle is more than just appearance: it determines handling, feel and control. The Sicherheitsschirm is available with the classic crook handle or with the knob handle developed by us in seven different woods. Important: All men’s umbrellas are supplied with real-wood handles.

Important note

For self-protection, the handle type (crook or knob) is of secondary importance. You will find the logical explanation for this in our video guide “Self-Defense with the Umbrella”.

Real wood – please note:

  • Unique piece: grain & color tone are naturally occurring
  • Care: wood is softer than stone/metal – avoid hard impacts
  • Feel: warm, grippy, high-quality

5. Reflective band – optional, but often useful

Some prefer the umbrella to remain discreet and understated – others want to be more visible in twilight and darkness. That is why the reflective band is optional (at no extra charge).

  • with reflective band: better visibility
  • without reflective band: classic look
  • Decision: You can choose directly in the configurator and later in the shop whether you want your Sicherheitsschirm with or without reflective band.

Quick decision

  • Are you often out in the evening twilight or in the dark? → rather with reflective band
  • Look & understatement are important? → rather without reflective band

6. Shaft & stability – the heart of it all

A Sicherheitsschirm must feel reliable and guarantee that it will not fail in an emergency. The shaft made of the high-tech material carbon is the heart of it all.

  • Change to carbon material (2021): further increased stability with high-quality feel

  • for all those who want to rely on their tool
Carbon: stability meets quality. The 14 mm carbon shaft is not only extremely stable, but also scratch-resistant and visually a real eye-catcher. The core of a beautiful umbrella.
Stress test: Interested customers often ask whether you can stand on our umbrellas. We therefore carried out a hard test with an axle load of around 500 kg: nothing broke.
Note: The carbon shaft is the heart of the umbrella and your “life insurance”; extremely stable and yet only slightly heavier than a conventional umbrella.

7. Mechanism – reliable in use

Many umbrellas fail because of the mechanism. That is why our umbrella mechanism was specifically refined – for stability, everyday usability and reliable function.
