How Your Handle Is Made – Real Craftsmanship from Swabia
From raw wood to finished handle – crafted with experience and precision
Every handle begins as a simple piece of wood – and is transformed through experience, precision, and craftsmanship into a premium companion.
For more than 15 years, we have worked with Drechslerei Weiss, who craft our handles with great care, experience, and genuine handwork.
Over the years, this has grown into a close and trusted partnership – shaped by mutual respect, continuous refinement, and a shared commitment to improving every detail.
Every piece of wood is unique. And that is exactly what is reflected in every single handle.

It begins with selecting the right wood – every board brings its own structure, color, and character.

The selected wood is prepared as a suitable blank and precisely mounted on the lathe.

In the first steps, the basic shape of the handle emerges – still raw, but its final line is already becoming visible.

Now the form is refined further until the proportions, feel in the hand, and transitions are exactly right.

The characteristic knob shape is now clearly visible – step by step, the simple piece of wood becomes a distinctive handle.

Different woods give each handle its own expression – from classically understated to especially full of character.

After turning, the handles are ready as raw pieces and await the next steps such as sanding, refining, and lacquering.

The handle now receives its protective lacquer finish. It shields the wood from external influences while bringing out the natural beauty and depth of the grain.

During finishing, the handles receive their final surface – durable, even, and matched to the character of the umbrella.

Colored variations are also created in several careful steps until appearance, feel, and protection deliver lasting quality.
